If You CAN'T... You MUST!

You know that feeling when you have SOMETHING important to do? For example, I think we can all identify with the looming pressure of personal TAXES- this is where the 'Pain | Pleasure' Principle comes into play. Have you noticed yourself procrastinating from doing what NEEDS TO BE DONE and for a short while, it even FEELS PLEASURABLE, not doing it, 'postponing' it. This is true up to a certain point where all of a sudden the procrastination turns into PAIN, STRESS and ANXIETY because now you've come up against your DEADLINE, you've even PASSED IT and now the PAIN of not doing it pushes you to get it done, buckle down and do it.

There is a reason why you do this and often it relates to the PERCEPTION you have of yourself and whether you feel that doing the task will represent PAIN or PLEASURE for you. Think of a different scenario- let's use exercise and going to the gym- some people are ADDICTED to the gym, PRIORITIZE it and make it a 'non-negotiable' TO DO in the course of their day. Now... this could either be linked to the pleasure of feeling fit, fabulous and energetic OR it could be tied to poor self-image, lack of confidence and identity. The point here is to EVALUATE what it is you are doing, WHY you are doing it and if you can RECOGNIZE PATTERNS that may possibly be holding you back from achieving what it is that you TRULY, TRULY WANT! What drives you? Raise your AWARENESS!
